Fürstenweg (Pinswang–Alpsee–Hohenschwangau)

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

In 1838, the construction of the track from Pinswang to the "royal pleasure palace" Hohenschwangau began. On 18 Aug. 1839 the road from Hohenschwangau over the Alpsee to Pinswang was opened by Crown Prince Maximilian, later King Maximilian II. Regularly came the Bavarian royal family of Hohenschwangau coming to Pinswang, where Maximilan had a hunt. After his death, the so-called "Fürstenstraße" was privately owned by his son King Ludwig II. In turn, he had his own room and his own dishes in today's "Gutshof zum Schluxen" in Pinswang.

Hohenschwangau Castle

Highlight • Castle

The Hohenschwangau Castle must be visited just like the Neuschwanstein Castle. Beautiful guided tours are offered in both. All information is available at hohenschwangau.de.

Jägerhütte

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Only sensible by bike from your feet! The other way around, coming up the Schützensteig from the Ammertal, also with the electric bike, only push and carry!
Down the Jägersteig only by MTB! Touring bike is not recommended, trail blocked, stony, not for beginners!

Bleckenau Hunting Lodge

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The left picture is the royal one. Hunting Lodge Bleckenau - unfortunately heavily frequented by tourists in midsummer. From Hohenschwangau difficult to reach by mountain bike - the lower part is temporarily closed because of the bus to Neuschwanstein - not completely harmless. The "toboggan run" up to the Marienbrücke is also used by many pedestrians. So better start early in the morning or in the evening. Dieter B
