Borgata Paraloup nel settembre del '43 divenne base della banda partigiana "Italia Libera" guidata da Duccio Galimberti e Dante Livio Bianco. Di qui passarono Giorgio Bocca e Nuto Revelli ed altri ventenni meno conosciuti ma che scelsero di combattere (e qualcuno anche morire) per un'ideale di libertà.
