Ein Tag am und um den Ararat. Dieser imposante Berg war heute das landschaftlich prägende Element. Es war irgendwie besonders, den höchsten Berg der Türkei so nah vor der Flinte zu haben, weil er seit Wochen quasi omnipräsent ist: im Osten der Türkei, in Teilen Armeniens, sogar auf dem Aragats war er am Horizont stets zu sehen.

Wider Erwarten, aber zu meiner Freude, war ich heute wieder in Begleitung. Abends noch einen liebevollen, schnuckligen Campingplatz für wenig Geld entdeckt. Durchweg sonniges Wetter, viel Rückenwind – besser geht's kaum.

A day at and around Mount Ararat. This impressive mountain was the dominant feature of the landscape today. It felt somehow special to have Turkey’s highest mountain so close, especially since it has been almost constantly present for weeks now: in eastern Turkey, in parts of Armenia, and even from Mount Aragats, where it was always visible on the horizon.

Unexpectedly, but to my delight, I was accompanied again today. In the evening, I found a lovely, cozy campsite for very little money. Sunny weather throughout, lots of tailwind – couldn’t be much better.
