Big distance day as I promised warmshower hosts in Canmore that I would be there in the evening. Start relatively early and don't bother relighting the fire. More stunning scenery and fine weather. Push on to Lake Louise and then follow an old highway which is much quieter towards Banff. Other cyclists on the road now but mostly on e bikes and almost all ignoring me.
Ride right through Banff to avoid the tourist crowds and then follow the paved trail beside the highway to Canmore. Make good time and arrive at a plush house with a Porsche in the driveway. It's the right address. Greeted enthusiastically by Lyle and 2 young dogs. He and wife who I meet later are both retired. They've hosted hundreds of WS guests before but their mindless and enthusiasm shows no sign of fatigue. A totally different experience to the WS a few nights ago in Jasper
Dinner prepared with wine and dessert. Made to feel like a true guest.
