Mount Tateshina Hike during Silver Week!
I hiked Mt. Tateshina in Nagano Prefecture during Silver Week, a major autumn holiday in Japan.
Trail Notes & Tips:
Final Ascent: The section right before the summit turns into a steep, rocky scramble. I highly recommend bringing a pair of gloves.
Summit Views: On a clear day, you can enjoy a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the Yatsugatake Mountains, Mt. Asama, and both the North and South Alps. Unfortunately, it was quite cloudy during my visit, so I couldn't see all of them clearly...
Descent Warning: The trail on the way back passes through wetlands—watch out for muddy spots!
