On this hill, numerous windmills were established, known since the 15th century and ideally situated on this rocky mound covered with heathland where the "Serin," a regular breeze from the sea at nightfall, still blows. Here, the silhouettes of some of these winged "giants" still remain, the last vestiges of one of the largest concentrations of windmills in the Vendée.
