Speed was the priority, because I got a late start and wanted to reach my destination before dark. The Po Delta is impressively vast, and the trails through it really are a lot of fun. I had to wait a bit for the ferry to Porto Levante—it runs once an hour. And I was lucky it was running at all, since I hadn’t checked the departure times beforehand (please don’t do this!). After crossing the Po do Venezia, the landscape becomes lovely and cute, and soon you catch a glimpse of the open Adriatic Sea. Comacchio is enchanting, and I’m glad my journey brought me here.
