Mit seinen 2645 m Scheitelhöhe ist der Galibier zudem der fünfthöchste asphaltierte Alpenpass.
Von ihm hat man ein grandioses Panorama, das vom Monte Blanc im Norden bis zum südlichsten Viertausender der Alpen, der Barre des Écrins reicht.
