Prima parte della tappa Oulx - Salbeltrand nel progetto in fase di definizione "sentiero della valle" che dovrebbe abbracciare l'intera val Susa da Avigliana a Bardonecchia, la val Cenischia e comprendere anche la zona attorno a Giaveno. Partendo da Oulx (via Roma) si segue il sentiero "Collet-Cotantin" a mezza costa nel bosco e successivamente, all'altezza del Gad, il Sentiero dei Franchi. la deviazione fino al lago Orfù è facoltativa.
