This circular e-MTB route shows Belgrade from several completely different perspectives — through its old streets, across its major bridges, along the riverbanks, and even from an almost rural landscape just a few kilometres from the city centre.
The ride starts near the former Hotel Jugoslavija and follows the Danube towards Zemun, passing through its historic old town and continuing through Pregrevica to Pupin Bridge. Once across the bridge, the familiar urban side of Belgrade is left behind and the surroundings change completely.
This is where the most interesting part of the ride begins.
From Pupin Bridge to Pančevo Bridge, the route follows the left bank of the Danube, mostly along the flood embankment, between the river, trees and open fields. From this almost natural side of the Danube, the urban skyline of Belgrade remains visible across the river, appearing through the belt of vegetation along the bank. It is a rare perspective: instead of experiencing the city from within, you are looking back at it from the outside — and its skyline, neighbourhoods and bridges suddenly take on a completely different character.
Crossing Pančevo Bridge brings the route back to the right bank of the Danube. From there, the ride continues towards Kalemegdan and the confluence of the Sava and Danube. After passing one of Belgrade's most recognisable viewpoints, the route crosses the Sava via Branko's Bridge and returns to New Belgrade and the starting point near the former Hotel Jugoslavija.
In less than 30 kilometres, this route crosses the Danube twice and the Sava once, linking Zemun, the left bank of the Danube, old Belgrade and New Belgrade in one continuous loop.
The real appeal of this ride is not the elevation gain, but the constant change of scenery:
Old Zemun → Pupin Bridge → Danube embankment and open countryside → views of Belgrade across the river → Pančevo Bridge → Kalemegdan and the river confluence → Sava → New Belgrade.
One ride, two great rivers, and several completely different faces of Belgrade.
