Shortish ride into the ex mining community of Faro - a sign at the turn off from the Robert Campbell highway saying 'Yulons best kept secret'. Not sure exactly what that is - the small town feels pretty ghostly, but it's got a great visitor and rec centre, the latter part of the reason I came. Small grocery store allows me to pick up eggs/bread/cheese. Use gym and shower at rec centre and charge batteries before riding a short distance up out of town to camp in the arboretum. Peaceful spot with toilets and bins and a great view over valley and town. No one else here.
