Nach Anreise mit Auto und ÖPNV ging es bei ersehntem Regen ab Bahnhof Gerolstein los. Zuerst ging es noch ein wenig durchs Gewerbegebiet bevor es dann über einen kleinen Weg und Stufen hinauf zur Löwenburg ging. Hier hat man einen schönen Blick auf Gerolstein.
Nun ging es weiter auf der Etappe. Meist über breit ausgebaute Forst bzw. Waldwege.
Ein Highlight war heute sicherlich die Burgruine am Nerother Kopf aus dem Jahre 1340. Zerstört durch die Franzosen 1639.
Heute steht sie als Naturschutzobjekt da und wurde seit 1984 wieder gesichert.
Pfadige Wege hatten es heute im Anstieg in sich ...
