The track up through the Yellowcraig wood was too steep in places, so a bit of pushing needed. Once at the gate at the top of the woods (and above the rocky steps just beyond this) it all becomes easier and is a straightforward mostly well surfaced walkers track. One or two places you will need to push. Coming off the summit, point toward Lossburn reservoir and you’ll pick up the steep grass track to the gate in the deer fence. It’s a fast grassy ride to the gravel track and then to the Sheriff Muir road. Follow road until the stone bridge then at the tiny parking place take the concrete bridge to a gravel track, climbing for a bit, then over the shoulder - it’s a long downhill with great views back to Dumyat. The section that runs down the slopes of Myreton hill to Menstrie are a highlight. All too soon back in the town and skirting along the singletrack in the woodland edge away from traffic. Back to carpark and coffee and cake in the Farm shop.
