Wild Forest Traverse – The Schlüsselfeld Escape

Forest Traverse Chronicle —
A 42 km summer adventure starting in Dietendorf and moving through Ampferbach, Grasmanndorf, Burgebrach and Vollmannsdorf before reaching Mönchhansbach — the first gateway to the forest.
From there, the trail turned wild: steep climbs, closed paths, fallen trees, and long stretches where I had to push or carry the bike.
I aimed for the Dreifrankenstein, but the forest grew too slow and too dense, so near Schlüsselfeld — after passing its gate — I chose to turn back before the evening closed in.
The return led me once again to Mönchhansbach, this time to the Zehender Brauerei, where a cold beer felt like the perfect reward for the whole struggle.
The final kilometers home were quiet, with the moon rising only at the end.
A long, demanding, beautiful summer traverse.
