Schneeberg 4 hour Loop

The morning started with a question when I moseyed up to a couple and said, “Hi. This is kind of random. Do you have any sunscreen? I left mine at home.” We later passed each other on the trail. And the trail? Please do it in reverse. It starts at the Schneeberg chair lift where you walk quite a while on a logging road. Runners will pass you by. Then you are left with a rather steep mountain climb and a grassy hill. Fischerhütte greets you at the summit. The descent is on a slippery rock strewn cliff. My advice: Bring a helmet ⛑️ to keep from getting brained by falling rocks. And again do this hike in reverse. Better to walk down a road than a rock slide.

Getting there: Use the ÖBB Scotty App with destination Puchberg am Schneeberg Sesselbahn. Talstation. I transferred at Ternitz and take a 45 minute bus ride. If you hate the bus, then you can take the R98 and transfer at Wiener Neustadt.

Food: Huts are located at both ends of the chairlift. Edelweiss sits at the top. Fischerhütte at the summit.
