Today I enjoyed a peaceful walk around Abdij Koningshoeven, where the quiet surroundings, beautiful monastery grounds, and scenic paths made it easy to slow down and appreciate nature. Walking through the estate, surrounded by greenery and the historic abbey, created the perfect mix of relaxation and history. The abbey has been home to the famous La Trappe Trappist brewery since 1884, where authentic Trappist beer is still brewed under the supervision of the monks.
After my walk, I treated myself to a delicious meal at the brewery's tasting room, paired with a refreshing La Trappe Trappist beer. Good food always tastes even better after a few kilometers on foot, and enjoying it in such a unique setting made the day complete. This was one of those walks that combines beautiful nature, local history, and great food into a memorable outing. I would happily come back again.
