Die vorletzte Etappe der Haute Route ist gleichzeitig auch die eindrucksvollste Etappe. Früh (3 Uhr) brechen wir deshalb auf und wandern zunächst über den Gletscher hinauf in Richtung Tête Blanche. Von hier oben bietet sich ein traumhafter Blick auf das Matterhorn und entschädigt für die Mühen des Aufstiegs. Der höchste Punkt der ganzen Tour ist erreicht und das Matterhorn können wir in vollen Zügen bestaunen. Anschließend steigen wir über den Stockjigletscher hinab zur Schönbielhütte.
