Partiti da Caprile Inferiore nel Comune di Averara (BG), percorriamo l'antica Via Mercatorum, antico collegamento tra la Val Brembana e la Valtellina, risaliamo l'erto sentiero boschivo fino alla Diga di Valmora che da il nome all'omonimo lago. Da li proseguiamo per il Rifugio Cantoniera San Marco. Una birretta, una feta di torta e scendiamo dal sentiero che conduce ai laghi di Ponteranica e ci ricolleghiamo al sentiero che dal lago ci riporta a valle.
