The glacier was easily traversable with the open cravasses visible. It was very warm so the top layer of snow was soft and the ascend was done in T-Shirt.
Due to the conditions on the snow ridge between Piton des Italiens and Dome du Gouter we decided against the continuation of the ascend. Crossing it at 3 a.m. would have been doable, but traversing back with the ridge loosing its stability with the increasing intensity of the sun would have been to dangerous.
