Bocca del Tovo Trail

Route 743 — the Bocca di Tovo Trail-Tour, ridden from Riva del Garda. The long climb goes up the San Giovanni al Monte road to Doss del Clef with its quirky summit cross, then a forest track to the high point at Bocca di Tovo, just under 1,100 m. A steep trail drops you to Malga Tovo and on to Croce di Bondiga — one of the finest viewpoints over Lake Garda anywhere. From Bondiga it eases off: a short concrete ramp, then asphalt — and then you choose your way down. Stay on the classic route rolling towards turquoise Lago di Tenno (swim stop earned), or drop into one of the signed trail variants: 743b Rancion — short and intense, steep with loose gravel — or 743c ‘per Elisa’, properly challenging and not for beginners. Whichever you pick, the ride finishes through Tenno and Varignano back towards Riva. A classic that you can tune from scenic to spicy on the day — which is exactly how I guide it.
