An einer schmalen, einsamen Straße liegt der Startpunkt. Dann geht es durch Misch- und Laubwald, teils auf urigen Pfaden, leicht hügelig. Der Linowsee ist klar und abgelegen, die beiden Badestellen indes kein totaler Geheimtipp mehr. Nach dem See erreicht man Wiesen und Weiden und das NSG Klapperberge (etwas 1500 ha groß). Rutenberg lässt man links liegen und erreicht wieder Waldwege.
Es gibt vereinzelt Bänke und Rastplätze bzw. Bootsstege. Keine Einkehr.
