Planned from Pinerolo but no train service.
From None to Pinerolo you are on back roads following a stream. Nice and quiet in the morning.
A little road sharing from Pinerolo to Torre Pellice (good place to grab a quick coffee). Then you follow the converted Trainline through the orchards for 15-20km. Chance to take in the scenery and relax before the climb ahead.
The climb is fairly constant and never too steep. I not sure if it goes above 13%. 7.5% all the way to the top!!! But the views are worth it all the way up.
Pit stop, after visiting plan del re and enjoying the refreshing fountain there..., at the plan della regina, and then down, down, down to Saluzzo.
The First part of the decent is a little dodgy for the road conditions (it's a mountain pass...) then it cleans up and you can wake your legs up and pedal again!
Saluzzo to Savigliano Is a straight drag. Boring and shared with the cars. Possibly reverse this route and do it in the morning when there is less traffic or find another way. If you are in a group It Is more protected.
