I was well rested when I left Zlin, and immediately entered the ongoing parade of cars on the Czech countryside and its poor quality roads. The weather was grey, rainy even.
I exited the Czech republic with a nice and quiet climb. It was challenging at moments, and again I observed the abysmal quality of the tarmac.
To see that the Slovakian side and descend was pretty perfect was a welcoming gift.
Slovakia was nicer in any case than Czech. It was quiet, more and more sunny and cars were much friendlier. Of course I had my busy roads as well, but in general it was quiet.
I rode in between the Beskyds and Tatra’s. The views were nice. I ended the day with a former railroad, leading me straight into Nowy Targ. Luck was on my side, as I saw how the High Tatra’s were covered in pitch black clouds.
