- woke up early to beat the heat
- chilly in the shade in the beginning
- eco trail for the most part which used to be a rail trail
- abandoned stations and fields of olive trees, vineyards, cows and sheep along the way
- Valongo Castle is on private land and no ones really knows about the origin of the castle
- chain broke as we were leaving from Montoito
- ended up eating lunch at a restaurant that was fortunately open
