The journey finally began.

After days of waiting for better weather, I started my ride from Mürzzuschlag, Austria. Before even riding the first meter, my camera lens cracked — not exactly the start I imagined for a 3300 km journey to Portugal.

The first day was warm, quiet and surprisingly emotional. I rode through familiar roads at first, but after leaving Leoben everything slowly started to feel new. No music, no distractions — just the sound of the road, the wind and my own thoughts.

110 km later, I found a peaceful wild camping spot near the river. Watching the sunset there made everything feel real for the first time.

Cycling West had officially begun.
