We spent the day pedaling through the canyon, and the views did not disappoint. We made it to the famous “Turtle Back”, that spot where the river loops around so tightly it almost meets itself. It’s definitely one of those places where you have to stop and look.
While we were out there, we met a group of motobikers from Livorno! It was a fun surprise to hear some Italian voices and chat for a bit in the middle of the mountains.
The scenery is finally starting to change, too. After days of just red rock and dust, we started seeing the first poplar trees. From the road, you can look down and see the river snaking through the bottom of the gorge, creating this long, bright green stripe that cuts right through the desert. It’s a pretty cool contrast.
After miles of climbing and descending, we finally reached Riad Dar Outebba. There is no better reward for tired legs than Moroccan hospitality.
The hospitality was top-notch, and they treated us to an amazing dinner of Kefta Tajine and grilled skewers.
Our hearts are full, our legs are sore, and our stomachs are very happy. On to the next mile! 🇲🇦✨
