Rheda Castle and Watermill

Highlight • Castle

The imposing moated castle is still inhabited by the Bentheim-Tecklenburg royal family today. It combines several architectural styles: a chapel tower from the 13th century, a Renaissance wing with a gallery and a Baroque wing. The important "White Hall" in the Rococo style, the wallpaper room and the small castle chapel with a prisoner's graffiti are among the sights worth seeing. Guided tours are offered regularly.

Rietberg Old Town

Highlight • Settlement

Cute little town that has gained even more thanks to the garden show. In addition to the city center, the green ring around the old town is also worth seeing and easy to navigate; in some places it looks “Dutch” with the houses on the bank. ;-)

View of the Ems River

Highlight • Viewpoint

Very nice path along the Ems. Partly asphalt, otherwise solid ground, very easy to drive. Great prospects.

The Emssee, the Emscafé, the park, and the Ems River are truly idyllic in every season. With plenty of charm, variety, and paths, as well as numerous sights and natural attractions, it's a true beauty for nature and wildlife.
