The approach to Hidden Wall starts with well-maintained stone steps. As you climb steadily, you reach a rocky ridge. You can choose to go over the large boulders or take a bypass. If you go straight over them, you’ll get the best ridge views with Insubong and Baegundae in the background.
After the Hidden Wall section, the route to Baegunbongam Gate becomes a steep and rough rocky path. The trail is faint, so you need to follow it carefully. Trekking poles are highly recommended.
Passing the crowds heading to Baegundae, you descend toward the Baegundae Visitor Center. This is one of the most popular trails in Bukhansan. Before reaching it, take a short break at Harujae Shelter. From there, it’s only 200 meters up to Yeongbong.
At Yeongbong, Insubong feels incredibly close and impressive. On the descent via Yukmojeong, you can see the ridgelines of Dobongsan, Sapaesan, Suraksan, and Bulamsan in the distance.
The trail from Yukmojeong leads down to Ui Station. The lower section is rough, so watch your footing.
