Trail Fishing Hwatae Island South

The short drive to Hwatae Island was quiet, with no other cars on the road. The island itself felt even more peaceful than Dolsan Harbour, where I have been staying for the past week for the past week. I parked my tiny car at Hwatae Island, grabbed my fishing rod, and set out to find the trail I saw on Komoot. Though short, the walk was pleasant, with pockets of pine forest and a trail leading down to the water’s edge, good for rock fishing. The fish weren’t all that interested in the soft plastic lures along the trail, but once I switched to worm bait at Dokjeong Harbour, where I had parked the car, I immediately hooked a sea bream. It was a bit too small to keep, but for its size, it put up a surprisingly good fight.
