The last route was going from Aljezur along the coastal gravel paths towards south passing two of the most spectacular points: Praia da Arrifana and Carrapateira. Even though I had a bit of a rainy day it was one of my favourite parts of the trip. The road was in parts very technical and challenging but always came up with such nice new views! Then afterwards crossing over towards Lagos and getting in more quite and remote parts again was an amazing change. The route was mostly just perfect besides around 51km where I decided to detour from my first plan and followed a hiking track which ended up being extremely steep and muddy bc of the weather. Better would be staying at the top and following the road going passed the Windpark I guess. The last part was more streets again entering Lagos but mostly quite and without any danger.
The next day I drove around the Lagos coast a bit and then got to the train taking me to Faro. For sure you could also have another day cycling to Faro but I was okay with my route so far and didn't want to go through so many towns. All in all the train ride was also part of the adventure and worked out quite well!
