Panorama Trail Bergisches Land

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

No matter how much I fiddled around with the planning, there is no way around the high-rise housing estate that we want, we have to go through it.
A cold wind whistles at the top, but we are compensated with numerous views of the country.

Limestone Monument

Highlight • Monument

In 1969, the Rheinisch-Westfälische Kalkwerke Dornap commissioned the Mettmanner painter and graphic artist Jan Peter Lichtenford with the construction of a memorial, which found its place in a small green area on the Düsseler Höhe in Dornap. Around 1968/69 a new development area was created, which was intended primarily for the employees of the lime works. The monument consists of three approximately 2m high and 1.50m wide stones made of shell limestone, which are grouped at right angles around a fluorescent tube. They carry six bronze plaques with reliefs of fossils found in limestone.
