Baby hike from Agia Roumeli to Iron Gate in Samaria Gorge

This is the baby version of the Samaria hike, an easy walk on a steady path with hardly any elevation. You arrive by ferry to Agia Roumeli, step off at the pier, and wander through the quiet old settlement. In just 15 minutes you’re already at the official exit of the Samaria Gorge National Park.
From there, it’s another easy 30 minutes until you reach the famous Iron Gate — the narrowest squeeze of the gorge, where cliffs close in dramatically on both sides. No sweat, no blisters, just a taste of Samaria’s best. Happy hiking!
