With five short hills spread across just over 30 kilometres, this scenic loop from the UCI World Cycling Centre in Aigle has something for everyone: cyclists who want to test their climbing legs without committing to a big mountain day or athletes following a structured training plan with high intensity intervals.
The ride starts with 10 flat kilometres—ideal for a gentle warm-up along quiet roads through the Chablais countryside. Then the terrain begins to rise, with a series of short climbs: La Pelouse, La Pâtissière, Le Bévieux, Antagnes, and finally Verschiez. None of them exceeds 100 metres of elevation gain, but together they offer a satisfying challenge and a chance to push your pace.
The loop winds through a mix of farmland and vineyards, with little traffic and open views of the surrounding Alpine peaks. Each climb reveals a new angle on the landscape, adding visual rewards to the physical effort.
After passing through the charming wine village of Yvorne, the final kilometres flatten out—perfect for a relaxed cool-down before returning to the World Cycling Centre. Located on the Rhône cycle path, the Centre is also home to a café and velodrome, making it a great spot to start and end your ride.
Whether you’re training for something bigger or just looking for a satisfying local loop, this ride delivers variety, scenery, and a touch of challenge in a compact format.
