Hiking south side of new Up and Over trail in Rothrock State Forest

Brief survey hike of the newly finished Up and Over trail in the Rothrock State Forest near State College, Pennsylvania, United States. This trail connects Pine Swamp Road on the south with the Musser Gap trail system on the north. The southern trail head is 1.6 miles (2.5 km) from the intersection of Laurel Run Road and Pine Swamp Road. It's a great hike or mountain bike trip. The route starts with 0.6 miles (1 km) on a gated, flat road. Note 1: The intersecting Musser Trail at 0.5m (800mt) has been abandoned and is overgrown. Note 2: The trail name as shown originally on maps was "Trail B". This was a placeholder until a public contest (July 2025) named it the "Up and Over Trail".
