The Squirrel Trail in the Wipkinger Forest is an idyllic path that winds through the dense greenery. The path probably got its name from the large number of friendly squirrels that are said to live here. Perhaps you can see a few of the industrious rodents climbing high up through the foliage?

Theodor Stern, a former pastor from Köniz, was looking for a way to improve his health. Inspired by the healing power of air and sun baths, he founded the spa on the Waidberg in 1902. Here, guests could relax in nature, enjoy fresh air and recharge their batteries. In 1939, an outdoor pool was added, which even allowed swimming at night. Thirty years later, the pool was closed and later filled in. The spa became particularly well-known thanks to Richard Ungewitter, who praised it as a progressive place for natural healing methods and free physical culture. Today, there is a tennis court, a barbecue and picnic area and a playground.
