01-Hemavan - Viterskalsstugan

This is day one of a super nice 3-day hike.

If you take the bus to Hemavan you get off directly in front of Ica, so you can buy your last supplies and get on track :) This part of the hike follows the famous kungsleden.

You hike up along the skiing area (which is obviously not used if you're hiking in summer) and once you left the lift station on the top behind you the trail leads you away from civilization into a beautiful mountain valley. There you soon see your first overnight-point: Viterskalsstugan. You can either pay for a night in the hut (book in advance via STF.se) or walk a few meters further and find a beautiful campsite where you might not be the first one to set up camp :) Note: there is a simple toilet at the campsite - what a luxury!

Build up your tent and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, take in all the sounds of nature and relax! Please make sure to take all your scrap with you the next day and follow the common rules regarding allemansrätten. If you're unsure about the rules, google them :)
