A beautiful hike through the autumnal Rheinbach forest with its many lakes. We were out with dear friends and truly enjoyed the day. Along the way, we met another hiking group who immediately invited us to share their delicious cake. Perfect! There were many highlights on the hike, and a delicious dinner at the Rheinbacher Brauhaus rounded off this successful day. It couldn't be better! Best wishes🙋♀️
I read in the General-Anzeiger newspaper that the hiking trails in the Rhineland Nature Park can be done without a navigation system or a map. I wanted to try it out near my hometown. It didn't always work. I had to resort to the navigation system twice. What I don't understand is that there are such big differences in the markings. It's like small-state politics 150 years ago. But the trail was beautiful and very wooded. Unfortunately, the ice cream parlor wasn't open yet.
Today we went on a wonderful hike through the Kottenforst (in the Rhineland Nature Park) near Rheinbach! 🥾🌳🍁☀️💨 We start from the car park by the swimming pool and follow the path up to the Beuelskopf. 🥾🍁💨 Wonderful forest paths uphill and downhill, with stormy 💨 gusts, await us. We pass the "Frische Brünnchen". 🤣 The wind, which you fortunately 😅 only hear in the forest🌳 but don't feel, accompanies us with a steady rushing along the entire route 🤣💨. The path leads us past small lakes and streams that meander steadily through the forest! ☀️👍🍁 We follow the pilgrimage path for a while to the forest chapel. 👍🥾 A very idyllic hike through a former iron ore mining area. The last part of the hike takes us past the old town of Rheinbach and through the large city park back to the parking lot. 🍁💨☀️🥾
The hike begins at the War Cemetery parking lot and leads through the town to the Glass Museum. The Glass Museum is located in the Himmeroder Hof at Himmeroder Wall 6. It is primarily dedicated to historical Bohemian glassmaking, specializing in North Bohemian hollow glass, but also showcases modern developments in glassworking. Rheinbach Leisure Park A very diverse leisure park for all ages, but no dogs or bicycles are allowed. Forstweiher - Schwanenteich Beautiful pond in the Rheinbach Forest. Unfortunately, it is located directly next to the country road, so traffic noise occasionally disturbs the tranquility. Beautiful forest path to the "Frische Brünnchen" (Fresh Spring) The path was unfortunately also affected by the 2021 flood. But it is now easily accessible again. Beuelskopf There used to be a tall wooden tower here, but it unfortunately burned down. The shelter is also an inviting place to rest. Hackesiefen. The Hackesiefen is a stream and left tributary of the Wallbach within the municipality of Rheinbach in the Rhein-Sieg district of North Rhine-Westphalia. The people of Rheinbach like to tell the story that, according to legend, a woman is said to emerge from the dark waters at midnight, carrying her head under her arm. Hikers may therefore be pleased to know that they can pass through this legendary body of water during the day. Rheinbach Forest Chapel The forest chapel near Rheinbach is located on Highway 492 between Rheinbach and the Todenfeld district, about 1 km southeast of the Rheinbach town limits in a wooded area. It has been a place of pilgrimage and the spiritual center of the Rheinbach parish association for centuries. Old Water Tower The former water tower in Rheinbach is located in what is now the city park in the south of the city and is used as an artist's studio. The converted building has been a listed building since December 18, 1984. Great tour, can be hiked in any season. Fitness required. Have fun.
A nice morning ride near Rheinbach in really nice weather 😊
This time we did the hike in reverse with the Eifelverein Ahrweiler. A simply beautiful hike. The common toads greeted us loudly and delighted the other hikers. From Wednesday to Sunday, we experienced a thriving natural environment. A hike for the heart and soul. Pure peace, as we were often alone with the group. Enjoy the hike.
Pre-hike for the Eifel Club First the annoying thing: Komoot stopped recording and didn't save many photos. That's why I imported the planning as a route and a lot of great photos are missing. After starting at the car park at Rheinbach Castle with the witch tower in the middle of the town of Rheinbach, past the remains of Roman times, you quickly leave the urban area and go out into nature. Here we hike into the forest, initially unspectacular, and then pass the ruins of the many ammunition depots from the Second World War. Many wall remnants show the location of the all destroyed facilities. On the right and left of the path you can see many bomb craters, which illustrate the extent of the destruction. A memorial reminds of this time. Now we follow the mostly beautiful narrow forest path almost exclusively along small streams. The streams meander strongly and each stream is crossed several times by means of many small wooden footbridges. It goes past many small ponds and lakes. The water is always present. ( from here the photos are missing ) If you are looking for a nice place to reflect, the forest chapel Rheinbach with the stations of the cloister is the right place for you. The first chapel was built here in 1683 and a monastery in 1686. The remains of the walls of the old monastery are impressive. From here we walk along Jakob's pilgrimage path along the Eulenbach with its beautiful ponds back towards the Rheinbach.
Seven cheerful hiking friends were out and about in the Rheinbach forest today in beautiful autumn weather with lots of 🌞. A very nice forest walk with an extremely funny group... We had a lot of fun. Finally, we went to the Rheinbach brewery, where we were very well served. Thanks to the funny fellow hikers. 🤗💞👍
