Today we drove the tour again. Was very nice again.
The wolf tour is divided into a north and a south route and its information boards deal with the current topic "The return of the wolf to Germany". Course and sights The northern route of the Wolf Tour takes you past the Wolf Center Dörverden, as well as the towns of Westen, Hülsen, Rethem (Aller) and Frankenfeld. From Frankenfeld you follow the connecting route to Anderten. Here it goes north to Hämelhausen until you get back to the Wolf Center. The hunting ground that was assigned to the "strangler" was an area of around 30 square kilometers in the districts of Neustadt, Fallingbostel and Nienburg / Weser with the center in the barely populated Lichtenmoor. Using information boards, topics such as “Why were wolves hunted?”, “The return of the wolves”, “What do wolves eat?”, “The difference between dog and wolf” or “Wolf and human - what to do when they meet?” Are dealt with. The wolf tour is designed for young and old, from the information on the boards to the topography. Since it is a circular course, the entry can be chosen flexibly. The Wolf Center Dörverden offers a very good starting point. The tour can also be driven in two daily stages through the connecting route.
A beautiful tour through Lower Saxony. But be sure to bring food and drinks.
At THE temperatures, a bike tour was a bit borderline, but we dared to do it because this route was supposed to be "tested" for a bike group of my girlfriend. The destination or fixed starting point on this route is actually the Wolfscenter in Barne, but since we were primarily interested in the route, we decided not to visit there. The miniature golf course in Rethem at the post mill was again a nice place to take a break: small dishes and cold drinks for little money. There is also a café in the west (Dörverden) in the multi-generation house. Overall a nice tour through fields and forest.
In principle the same tour as before: https://www.komoot.de/tour/244767174 , only that this time we had to find out that in Waidmannsheil there is no hot meal between 2pm and 5.30pm Unfortunately, this planning failed
