Buzzing meadows, tranquil moors, and plenty of water accompany you on your circular hike along the Elbe-Lübeck Canal and through the Pantener Moorweiher Nature Reserve and its surroundings. This not-too-demanding tour takes you through a wild, truly unique landscape.

The hike starts at the Nusser Church, with its old parsonage and well-kept rectory garden. After just a few steps, you're already in the middle of the Hellmoor. Here, you'll enjoy fantastic views over wet meadows, wide fields, ponds, and pools where frogs, dragonflies, and ducks live.

In Kühsen, you reach the canal, which meanders peacefully through the landscape. With a bit of luck, you might spot a few herons, and sometimes even sea eagles circling high in the sky. Past the historic Donnerschleuse lock, you follow the path to the sand area near Hammer.

The Pantener Moorweiher Nature Reserve alternates between wet meadows, marshland, and dry sandy areas. From the viewing platform, you'll enjoy a magnificent view of the delicate, typically North German landscape. The trail leads you back to Nusse through open fields. You'll find small snack bars in the village—but it's best to bring enough water and a few snacks for the journey so you can enjoy the tour in a relaxed manner.
