Despite an icy wind, we had the sun with us – and so it was an all-around beautiful tour. Spring was already in full bloom: lush green meadows, blossoming trees, and the scent of fresh life accompanied us on our journey. A highlight was the Kunigunde Chapel near Burgerroth, a district of Aub. It is considered an important late Romanesque building and once served as a pilgrimage church and place of worship for the surrounding villages such as Buch, Burgerroth, Niedersteinach, and Brauneck Castle. We continued on a narrow trail through Buch, a small, idyllic village, then through quiet forest paths and woods to the watchtower. From there, our route led through Bieberehren to the Kreuzkapelle Chapel. There, 240 steps awaited us – a small feat of strength, but rewarded with a magnificent view of the valley. After a short break, we descended the 240 steps again and ended our tour with many beautiful impressions.
This time we started in Burgerroth, across the corridor to Bieberehren up to Buch. Finally, return to the start via the Kunigunden Chapel. After the cloudy weather of the last few days, the tour was wonderful with the best sunshine.
