"On the seventh day God created Holland"... Flevoland was obviously there too. Nur Schokland was once a small island in the Zuiderzee; today it is embedded in newly created polderland. The World Heritage Museum in Schokland provides exciting information about the formation of the polders and island life in the past. Flevoland today offers huge fields of tulips and orchards. Unfortunately we are too early: the tulips are not in bloom until mid-April. Too bad. But due to the exciting cloud formations and the varied cycle paths, the "plate country" is also a highlight!
