This path is exemplary for many beautiful forest paths through the NSG Langeloh. You are completely surrounded by nature and don't hear any traffic noise. An oasis for forest bathing.

Field Path at Langeloh

Highlight • Trail

The path leads to Langeloh. The Roßbach stretches in the nature reserve, which is bordered by fallow grassland, tall herbaceous meadows and large sedge meadows in a vast valley. Endangered plant species such as giant horsetail and bank sedge have settled in the damp shores of the Roßbach. The slopes of the valley are overgrown with beautiful old beech stocks in the upper reaches, in which numerous species of birds, among others. Small woodpecker, tree falcon and stock dove are native.

Langeloh Nature Reserve

Highlight • Natural

The Langeloh - In der Hemke nature reserve is a 40.20 hectare nature reserve in the southeast of Herne, it is part of the regional green belt E, which runs north-south. Due to its location in the Ruhr metropolitan region, it is important both as one of the protected areas in a densely populated area and as a recreational area. It was designated as a nature reserve in the 1990s. The Roßbach, which flows through the valley from southwest to northeast, is a defining element of the landscape. After being channeled in concrete shells for a long time, it was renaturalized in the 1980s and has since then once again provided a habitat for many aquatic organisms, such as the fire salamander. They are then dismantled in spring, summer and winter 🙄?
Such a “highlight” surprises me, especially since the steps here have already been highlighted several times 🤷

In the city triangle of Herne, Castrop-Rauxel and Bochum is the “Langeloh” nature reserve, which has been developed with fifteen natural history information stations.
The hiking suggestion "Naturpfad Langeloh" leads on an approximately five kilometer long circular route through one of the most beautiful and valuable nature reserves in the middle of the Ruhr area. The nature trail offers the opportunity to hike through natural habitats and discover the special features of the nature reserve.

Despite the winter cold, the two of us ventured into the Langeloh nature reserve. The paths were mostly in good condition, but in some places the path turned into a real muddy track. With every step we sank deeper until the mud finally wrapped around our ankles.

The NSG Langeloh has been on my to-do list for a long time.....it was absolutely worth it and that as the 500th Komoot tour...super autumnal colors...very beautiful paths...was a good start for me after a 3 week forced break...due to severe muscular problems in my right leg...that's why I did a shorter route....👍🍄🍁👋🍂🥾🥾 I wish you all a nice weekend …

It was missing between the yellow markings and the part through the 2nd settlement, I saved myself and turned onto the field instead... It was pretty muddy uphill and down
