The destination of today's hike was the Kuhstall, a gigantic rock arch (W/H/D 17, 11, 24 meters). The starting point of the hike was the Lichtenhain Waterfall.

We planned to travel to the starting point on the nostalgic Kirnitzsch Railway. Due to construction work along the way, we had to forgo the jolting and squeaking and use the special tram …

I set out at 6:30 this morning to take a short walk to the cowshed. It was the first time I'd ever been out on the cowshed grounds all by myself, and it was a treat for the soul 😊 Unfortunately, my Achilles tendon didn't hold up so well, but it was worth it.

The Kuhstall is a rock gate 11 meters high, 17 meters wide and 24 meters deep. Its name probably came about during the Thirty Years' War, since the local residents kept their cattle in front of the Swedish in the very wide rock gate

The rocks are still where they used to be, but the trees aren't. The views and prospects have changed significantly. One sees through more, but …

A very nice little hike from the Lichtenhain waterfall. On the way up, the erosion of the torrents from a few weeks ago was clearly visible in some places and the forest dieback caused by the bark beetle leaves very visible traces, especially in the Zschand. We also built a cairn.
