Sandy Lane Cut-Through

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

Cheeky little cut through between some lovely cottages. The surface is mostly broken tarmac/concrete and it is steep. Testing, but mercifully short climb heading E to W.

West Tanpit Wood

Highlight • Natural

West Tanpit Wood is a peaceful woodland with the picturesque Markham Brook flowing through its heart. The wood is home to many species of bird, including buzzards, which can regularly be seen and heard soaring above the canopy. The wood gets its name because Markham Brook was used for leather tanning in medieval times.

Bridleway Linking Green Lane and Weir Lane

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Bridleway links West Tanpit wood, the back of Abbots Pool, and also runs down to the bottom of Green lane, which takes you to Failand, Wraxhill place etc

Paradise Bottom Lake

Highlight • Viewpoint

Lovely little spot to ride through.

Abbot's Pool

Highlight • Forest

It's a popular swimming spot but I'd probably advise waiting until summer.

Rocky Descent to Sandy Lane

Highlight • Trail

Heading East, this one starts off flat and smooth, but turns into a thrill ride of a descent, if you’re on drop bars. Ride Westbound for a technical climb.

Ford with Uneven Surface

Highlight • Natural

The road surface under the ford has been washed away and is in need of repair. Please proceed with caution. I crashed into it and nearly came off - left me with a flat tyre however.
