Sztoła River (formerly: Czartoria) - a river flowing in the Małopolskie and Śląskie voivodships, mostly through the Bukowno commune, left-bank tributary of the Biała Przemsza River.
Known for its exceptionally clean waters, the place where trout is caught. The river has its springs between the town of Żurada and Podlesie (a district of the city of Bukowno).
Sztoła starts its course from a hill covered with beech and flows towards the town of Bukowno, passing the area of the former military unit and the abandoned settlements of Polis and Podpolis on its way.
The Sztoła river theoretically reaches the backwater and the "Leśny Dwór" reservoir in Bukowno, but in practice it dries up about 1 km from the reservoir. The further watercourse is supplied from the Baba River, which is in fact 100% supplied with mine waters from the Pomorzany mine in Olkusz, hence the unique purity of the waters. For centuries, the river has formed its picturesque valley by carving gorges and bends that can be admired throughout the course of the river. Sztoła flows all the time surrounded by forests (at the source of beech forests, further pine forests) until it flows into the waters of the Biała Przemsza River in the settlement of Ryszka in Sławków, where the no longer operating water intake station from Sztoła, which supplied water to Sosnowiec and its vicinity, is located. Water abstraction was discontinued in 2005 due to the increased level of lead in the river related to the activities of the nearby zinc and lead mine.
Many animals (including elk, roe deer, wild boar) and 170 species of plants, more than in the Pieniny National Park, can be found in the forests surrounding the river.

Forest Shrine

Highlight • Religious Site

Previously better quality road to Olkusz. They poured stone where water collected or there was sand. Ok, but the stone is too thick and not compacted. Whoever ordered the stone has no idea about bike paths.

Fire roads for each bike. A bit of sand from time to time, but to be avoided. 100 percent passable.
