Wasserburganlage Isenburg is of great importance for Holweide, as it documents the origin of this place. It is one of the oldest settlements in Holweide, although today's building fabric no longer dates from the time of its origin. The Isenburg was first mentioned in writing in 1364.

Since July 3, 1984, the house has been protected as a monument within the meaning of Section 2, Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Monument Protection Act (DSchG NW). The public interest necessary for the qualification as a monument is given, since this monument is important for the history of man and for cities and settlements, as well as artistic, scientific and urban planning reasons for its preservation and use.

Isenburg Castle has the typical features of a moated castle: The manor house as the so-called main castle and tower stand on a raised island surrounded by moats and which can be reached via two bridges. The current manor house was built on a square brick tower from the 16th century in the 18th century in the classicist style and has three floors, five axes, a plaster facade with cut stone divisions and dormer windows.
The tower is of brickwork with a cut stone structure, onion dome with a weathervane and dormer windows. A terrace with a brick wall surrounding the mansion on two sides forms a forecourt, which is connected to the outer bailey by a three-arched brick bridge. The outer bailey consists of one to two storey brick or plaster buildings from the 19th century grouped around a rectangular courtyard. In the former "servants' house" there is an original wooden staircase, original room doors and windows. The main access is a chestnut avenue and leads over a second brick bridge. The complex is surrounded by a moat.

Strunder Mill

Highlight • Monument

The history of the Strunder mill is marked by a number of functional changes. It was first mentioned in a document as early as 1380 as a fulling mill. There is a mention as a Pleißmühle in "Strundorf" in 1605. In a mention of 1613 it is referred to as a color wood mill and in 1773 as a Follmühle (fulling mill). Today's building fabric dates from 1800.

The water mill was in the night of 23-24. Destroyed by French soldiers in October 1811. In 1821 it was already rebuilt and in operation as a tanning and tobacco mill. The mill was shut down after 1900. According to an old photo from 1906, the undershot water wheel can still be seen, which is no longer there.
After a relatively long period of vacancy and a fire, the architect Franz Sommer acquired the property at an auction in 1966. He renovated the mill building in 1968-1969 and converted it into a residential building (Schulte 1973, p. 200). The Mühlengraben and Mühlenteich are no longer shown on the current edition of the topographical maps.
