Kneipp Pool on Lukasberg

Last year (2020) the water was turned off here. But it is a beautiful facility that can be easily reached from the Bösinghausen forest edge below. The formation of tufa on the water channels is interesting. When hiking through the Weisswassertal you can usually get good drinking water here. The next opportunity to do so is the Hördelbrunnen down the valley. To the southwest in the headwaters of the Weißwasserbach and the floodplains, good drinking water is scarce.

Hünstollen Observation Tower

The Hünstollen tower stands on the highest point of the Plessewald forest. In good weather, the tower offers a magnificent view of the western Harz Mountains and the Brocken.

Yesterday (January 4, 2021), I saw that the viewing platform was boarded up and the entire tower was also locked.

Update: The tower has reopened after renovations.

There used to be a small hut with refreshments here, but it was abandoned due to repeated vandalism.
