Gravel Paths Near the Arno River, Arezzo

Highlight • Trail

Very nice path. Some pot holes and some short and steep meters with loose gravel, but all good if not on a road bike.

Ponte Buriano

Highlight • Bridge

Take a ride in May. Generally during the second weekend the descent of the craziest Arno in the world takes place: the Spollinata sull'Arno, the descent of the river from Giovi to Ponte Buriano now in its 41st edition. Space for all types of alluvial vessels, for canoes and rubber boats and for any strictly non-motorized vessel. The only rule, any type of engine is excluded and only the power of human energy is allowed to push the boat downstream. The crazy descent of the Arno river departing from Giovi and arriving at Ponte Buriano is a folkloric competition that takes place as usual with alluvial means.

Castiglion Fibocchi Historic Center

Highlight • Historical Site

Municipality of the Province of Arezzo. The historic center is interesting. The street furniture and murals are beautiful, inspired by the Carnival which is celebrated here in a particular way.

Great views indeed. If it is (like for us coming from North) your first view of the Tuscany, it feels like the 'classic landscape' but it will get better continuously ;)

Marco Pantani Climb

Highlight • Climb

Difficult gravel climb that is part of the L'Ardita Gravel event. Panoramic views are somewhat obstructed by overgrown woods, but you'll be climbing in the low gear and probably be looking down :)

Max 14%, Avg 6.5%, L. 8.6 km climb. Part of 2016 Tour of Italy

San Polo-Alpe di Poti, 15% stretch, or maybe more? Starts off-road, then a terrible S.
