Volpaia is a beautiful, compact village at the end of a long dead-end road at an altitude of 600 meters. Nevertheless, there are several places to stop for refreshments and a lovely hiking trail that loops southwest from the village, alternating between shady forests, scenic vineyards, and postcard-perfect cypress avenues.

That was a wonderful tour in Tuscany. Of course, the end point was also the start, my battery failed just before the end. The weather was very changeable but we were lucky enough to catch a downpour in Volpaia where we enjoyed a wonderful Tuscan meal.
