View from the Triana Bridge

Highlight • Viewpoint

Also called Triana, as it joins the city center with the Triana neighborhood and replaces an old boat bridge that existed in its place in the 19th century.
It was built in 1852, with a design by French engineers Steinacher and Bernadet based on stone and iron. It is the oldest preserved iron bridge in Spain and would be declared a National Historic Monument in 1976, being restored a year later.

The Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art (C.A.A.C.) was created in February 1990 with the intention of providing the Autonomous Community with an appropriate institution for the research, conservation, promotion and dissemination of contemporary art. Subsequently, works began to be acquired with the idea of taking the first steps in creating a permanent collection of contemporary art. In 1997, the Cartuja Monastery became the headquarters of the Center, a decisive step in its evolution. This decree entailed the modification of its statutes and the conversion of the C.A.A.C. in an autonomous Organization - dependent on the Ministry of Culture - that assumed the management of the staff and the collections of the former Monumental Complex of the Cartuja and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Seville.
Since its inception, one of the main objectives of the Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art has been to develop a program of activities that, with a clear educational intention, seeks to promote the study and promotion of international contemporary artistic creation in its most varied expressions. Temporary exhibitions, seminars, workshops, concerts, meetings, recitals, film series, conferences... have been the communication tools used to carry out this purpose. The Center's cultural offering is complemented by a visit to the monument itself, which houses an important artistic and archaeological heritage, a product of its long history. caac.es

Roman / medieval wall of Seville

Highlight • Historical Site

Defensive system of the city from Roman to Arab times and visible from the bike lane. The best preserved sections are those close to the Macarena Basilica, around the Reales Alcázares- callejón del agua and right in the passage that leads to the Plaza del Cabildo. There were up to 18 access gates and shutters, of which we currently only have: the Macarena gate, the Córdoba gate, the oil gate and the Alcázar gate.

Before arriving at La Venta El Alto we cross the road popularly called "La de La Cancela", you have to go and return through the same place, it ends at a gate that leads to the Guillena Electrical Substation, where the passage is logically prohibited. In El Garrobo we visit the fountain that is ennlpnalto, where the water runs all …
